During Our Time Together

Hi!  Glad you came by to spend some time.  During our time together, we’re going to stay in the house because I really don’t want to go out at the moment.  But I have plenty of drinks, including coffee – if you don’t mind waiting until I figure out how to work this one-cup coffee maker I have (honestly, I really don’t know what to do other than putting coffee mix and water in it but no clue how much to add of either – you might just want to do it yourself because I have no idea what you’ll get if I actually made it – do I even have coffee in the house?  You might just want to skip coffee this time).

Sitting across from me, you probably understand why I don’t want to go out.  Don’t worry, I don’t have anything that is catching.  It appears the cold I thought I’d been fighting for the last couple weeks is actually an allergic reaction I’m having to something.  I’m not sure what I’m allergic to at the moment.  I’ve had several swollen areas come up on my eyelids over a few weeks, but I just thought they were spider bites (we have had a LOT of spiders in the house lately).

Allergy Relief, Please!

However, when I woke up a couple of days ago, my eyes were pretty swollen all around the eyes.  Yesterday, it just got worse.  My eyes were swollen and I itched all over.  I was miserable.  I took Benadryl last night and felt better through the night but woke up with more swollen areas and rashes in a couple of places.  I took another shower, and it felt better, but I look a mess with red spots all over my face where I’ve scratched.  I think I might have developed an allergy to coconut oil.  I’ve used it as a moisturizer and deodorant for a couple of years with no problems, but during my research into what’s going on with me I found that some have developed allergies to it all of a sudden, even after prolonged use.  It’s rare but I’m one of the “lucky” ones, it appears.  If it’s not that, I have no idea and will be looking to solve the mystery quickly.  Since I have rashes, I need to find out soon what it is quickly because having rashes makes this a true allergy and it could be life-threatening.  I’ve had some trouble breathing, which is why I thought it was a cold, so this is not something I want to mess around with for long.  Prayers would be appreciated.

Belgium

During our time together, I’d also tell you…

My niece and her husband left for Belgium on Tuesday.  It’s so sad to know she’s all around the world, but I know we’ll find a way to keep in touch.  They are there to show the hope that can only be found in Jesus.  I’m so proud of them and am lifting them up.  Her dad told me today about an app called What’s App where you can text internationally for free.  I downloaded it and sent a couple of messages, but I think it’s the middle of the night there and they are probably asleep now.  I’m pretty excited about this app working and being able to stay closely connected to her without breaking the bank for either of us.

And, finally, during our time together, I’d tell you…

On Monday, we celebrated Independence Day here in America.  It was rainy most of the day, so we skipped any fireworks displays.  I was fortunate, though, that I was able to see a few the night before when I picked my oldest up from a party.  There were fireworks going off everywhere I looked.  I felt like a kid again.  So, that makes up for not going to a fireworks display. Thank God I didn’t wreck into anyone since I was so distracted.  We did watch the movie “Independence Day” again this week (before we see the new one), so I guess that was our celebration.

So, how has your week been?  If you live in the US, what did you do to celebrate?  No matter if you’re in the states or elsewhere, I hope you had a great week.
