If we were having coffee..
The fact that I hate coffee would undoubtedly come up at some point. Â I don’t even like the smell of it. Â Yeah, I know, that’s really odd, but it’s true. Â To me, it smells like burning brussels sprouts – something that smells bad to begin with and then burn it to make it smell even worse. Â And it tastes even worse, like what sludge looks like it would taste. Â When I was in Egypt, I tried Turkish Coffee. Â Oh…my…word! Â Yuck!!!
Now, I wouldn’t continue talking about it, so that you could enjoy your choice of coffee in peace. Â I would just quietly order my grande hot chocolate and be quite happy. Â Yum! Â I love a good hot chocolate. Â Then we’d sit and talk about anything and everything we had time to talk about.
But Anyway
But, since we’re not sitting and having coffee at the moment, I will continue. Â What is the attraction to coffee? Â Honestly, why is it the go to beverage? Â I know there are some who prefer tea, but, unfortunately, I don’t like tea either. Â So, I really feel like I don’t fit into the morning beverage club.
It really does seem like a club. Â The responses I get are pretty entertaining, especially when I mention that I don’t like the smell of coffee. Â It’s like they can excuse me for not liking the taste, but not liking the smell is unforgivable. Â Maybe I should just stop telling people I don’t like the smell. Â Hmm, that’s an idea. Â But I guess, by writing this, the cat is out of the bag and it’s now a known fact!
I think I may have a problem. Â It’s probably not normal to have this much dislike of a liquid. Â But, then, I’ve never been accused of being normal.

I’m the same and don’t like tea or coffee. People are always confused as to what to do when I don’t want either and just ask for a glass of water!
It’s so nice to know there is someone else out there with similar tastebuds. It is funny to watch people respond.
LOL – burning brussel sprouts – now that’s definitely a yuck. I’m an equal opportunity morning beverage person – I like coffee, tea, hot lemon water, hot chocolate, and of course water always works. But you’re right – now your secret is out. Your nose knows and so do we.
Then we could definitely do a “coffee” get-together!
For some reason I couldn’t get to the bottom of your comment. Hope that isn’t a smell that comes to mind when you drink coffee.
